Why has my train stopped?
If you apply too much power, the train will cut the power to the motors to protect them from burning out. To recover, move the throttle to 0 and close the Master Circuit Breaker (MCB). You will hear the locomotive come back to life, and you'll be able to reapply power without stopping.
What is the start-up procedure for the BR 103?
- Insert the Reverser Handle.
- Reverser to Neutral.
- Turn on the Brake Key.
- Reverser to Forward.
- Release the Driver's Brake.
- Slowly increase the Tap Changer (as not to overload the traction motors)

- Reverser to Neutral.
