How to Download a Game
- From the home screen, select Game Library > Your Collection.
- Now select the game you wish to download.
- Select the PS5 version to download the best version of the game for your console.
- Now select Download > Select All > Install, to download all the add-ons you are entitled to.
- To view the progress of your download, press the PlayStation button and navigate to Downloads/Uploads.
- Before you start the game, please complete any active downloads.
How to Download an Add-on
- From the Home Screen, highlight your game.
- Press the Options button on your controller.
- Then select Manage Game Content.
- Select the Install icon next to the add-on you wish to install.
Alternatively...
- Go to Games home > Game Library.
- Scroll to the Your Collection tab.
- To find game add-ons, select the game hub and scroll to the Add-ons section.
Typically, the PS5 will try to download both the PS4 & PS5 versions of an add-on, if available. To cancel the version you don't need, please check the downloads queue.
How to Cancel a Download In Progress
- From the home screen, press the PlayStation button on your controller to bring up the "Control Center".
- Select Download/Uploads.
- Select the download.
- Highlight the download you want to cancel and press Options > Cancel and Delete.
How To Delete an Add-on
- From the Home Screen, highlight your game.
- Press the Options button on your controller.
- Then select Manage Game Content.
- Select the Delete icon next to the add-on you wish to remove.
Additional Troubleshooting
How to restore licences on PS5 consoles
Restoring licences can be helpful if you can't locate a game or add-on, or a game has a padlock icon on it.
- Go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Restore Licences.
- Select the licences that you want to restore.
How to enable PS5 Console Sharing and Offline Play
Console Sharing and Offline Play is automatically enabled on the PS5® console you've used to sign in to PlayStation™Network for the first time. To enable Console Sharing and Offline Play on a new PS5 console, follow these steps.
- Go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Console Sharing and Offline Play
- Select Enable
How to Rebuild the PS5 Database and Clear the Cache
If the above options have not helped you resolve a problem, rebuilding the PS5 database and clear the cache can help. To do this, you will need to restart your console in safe mode, as described below.
- Turn off your console by holding the power button for three seconds.
- The power indicator blinks for a few moments before turning off.
- Once the console is off, press and hold the power button again.
- Release it after you hear the second beep — one beep sounds when you first press, and another seven seconds later.
- Connect the controller with the USB cable and press the PS button on the controller.
- Now, select Clear System Software Cache
- Next, select Rebuild Database
