- Set the Master Key to On.

How do I recover from an emergency brake application in the Class 801?
- Come to a complete stop,
- Reset the Power Handle to 0.
- Apply power using the Power Handle.
Why won't the Class 801 work in electric mode on some routes?
The Class 801 Azuma uses 25kV power from OHLE in electric mode, which is common on most electrified UK routes. However, Germany typically uses 15kV power, which is incompatible.
How do I use the Class 801 in diesel mode?
- Be stationary with the Reverser in Neutral
Press and hold the Engine Start Button for 10 Seconds
Press and hold the Diesel Button for 10 Seconds
If the Pantograph is raised, press the Pan Down Button until it has lowered
Note: depending on your formation, as only a single diesel engine is present your performance will be
severely limited, a 9-car 801 does not move in a hurry!
