What is the startup procedure for the M7 and M9 EMU?
- Set the Mastery Key to On.
- Move the Reverser to Neutral.
- Move the Master Controller to Max Brake.
- Allow for the brakes to charge to at least 90 psi.
- Move the Reverser to Forward.
- Apply power by moving the Master Controller into the power range.
How do I recover from an emergency brake in the M7 and M9 EMU?
- Wait for the train to come to a complete stop.
- Acknowledge any alarms with Q Key/Circle/B button.
- Reset any emergency handles.
- Move the Master Controller to Max Brake.
- Allow for the brakes to charge to at least 90 psi.
- Move the Reverser to Forward.
- Apply power by moving the Master Controller into the power range.
What do I need to do when the alerter goes off?
The action you need to take when the alerter goes off will change depending on the situation. However, in short, you need to adjust your speed appropriately and acknowledge the alerter. For more information, please refer to page 16 of the manual.
How do I stop the alerter going off while I'm stationary?
Put the Master Controller into Max Brake.
How do I know where to stop at a station?
Depending on the length of your train, you will need to use different stops markers to ensure that all the doors open on to the platform.
How long do I have to acknowledge the alerter before an emergency brake penalty?
Approximately 7 seconds.
Is the original Long Island Rail Road required to play this route?
No, LIRR Commuter is an entirely new experience and does not require you to own any specific add-ons.
Why is the original Long Island Rail Road Route Add-On still on sale?
The original route still provides layers for New York-Trenton, and for previous games it is the only Long Island Rail Road experience available.
Will the M7 and M9 work on other routes in Free Roam mode?
In Free Roam mode, these trains will be limited to 15 MPH on other routes due to the always on safety systems that won't be compatible with other routes.
Is it normal to see more than one train in the same block?
Yes, if you are following the in-cab signalling systems correctly, you will be warned to slow down and pull up a safe distance behind the train in front.
Can I disable the safety systems on this route?
No, at the request of the licensor, safety systems are always on by default.
What do I need to see Amtrak and NJ TRANSIT trains at Sunnyside Yard as static AI?
You will see these trains as static AI if you have the Northeast Corridor: New York – Trenton Route Add-On installed (Experience on 8th gen consoles may vary).

Timetable Layers
Timetable Layers will allow you to drive locomotives from other routes/add-ons in timetable mode. They may require you to own the complete set of compatible add-ons before layers are activated. The exception being where an add-on states it has timetable support for this route in the product description. The following information is confirmed for 9th generation consoles and PC, but there may be some small variances for players on 8th generation consoles.
