Please note that Train Simulator does not currently support the use of Windows Theme-specific features that changes your mouse pointer style and/or behaviour. You should therefore ensure you are using the system default wherever possible when using Train Simulator.

When the mouse pointer is missing in Train Simulator, it is typically caused because you've enabled specific features in Windows such as Pointer Trails, Magnification, Using a different mouse pointer than the system default or by using a Windows Theme that replaces the mouse pointer with something different. To resolve the issue, please follow the steps below:

  1. Press the Windows Key + i to open Windows Settings or select Settings from the Start Menu (it's the icon that looks like a cog or gear).
  2. In the Windows Settings window, click Devices, then Mouse.
  3. In the upper right, click Additional Mouse Options.
  4. In the Mouse Properties window, select the Pointers tab, then from the Scheme dropdown, select Windows Default (system scheme).
  5. Select the Pointer Options tab ensure the option to Display Pointer Trails is unchecked.
  6. Click Apply then OK to close the Mouse Properties window.
  7. Click Start, then Power, then Restart to restart your computer.

The mouse pointer should now display appropriately in Train Simulator. However, if the above fails to rectify the issue, you may need to review the user manual for your mouse and update any associated software.
