Intel are relatively new to the dedicated graphic card (GPU) market. Entering the market with the Intel Arc A770 and A750 in March 2022 they have only had a few years to mature their drivers, whereas AMD and Nvidia have dominated this market for decades prior. Therefore, we commonly see driver compatibility issues with Intel Arc cards, especially in games that run on anything before DirectX 12.
For this reason, we do not support Intel Arc GPUs and have no immediate plans to introduce support. However, the drivers provided by Intel are continuously improving, and some players have found running in DirectX 12 allows them to have a more stable experience, without crashes.
Train Sim World games can be forced to run in DirectX 12 using the instructions below. However, it is important to remember that this is to be done at your own risk and your experience may vary. DirectX 12 does come with some benefits to performance, but remains unsupported at this time. We hope to officially support it in the near future, once we have completed further testing.
How to force DirectX 12 mode:
- Open Steam and go to Library.
- Right-click on your game, and go to Properties.
- On the General tab, click into the Launch Option text box and type "-dx12" without the quotation marks.
